Employee Spotlight: Meet Russ Thomas
This month, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on one of the key members of our technical team, Russ Thomas! As Nevtec’s Senior Systems Administrator, Russ plays a vital role in handling project work and serving as a source of escalation and mentorship for our technicians.
Russ brings an impressive 15 years of IT experience to the firm. He began his professional journey as a help desk technician at a Managed Service Provider (MSP) and steadily worked his way up, holding senior system and network administrator positions at several companies before joining our team.
When asked what he likes best about his role at Nevtec, Russ’s answer was simple and heartfelt: “The folks I work with.” It’s this team-oriented spirit that makes him such a valuable mentor and colleague.
While he’s a tech expert now, as a child, Russ dreamed of becoming a police officer. His heroes have also evolved over the years. Today, the person he admires most is his kids, though he still holds a place for his favorite superhero, Spider-Man.
Outside of the office, you can find Russ enjoying live music shows in the area. When it’s time to relax at home, he enjoys diving into the thrilling world of Stephen King’s The Shining—both the book and the movie are his favorites! His go-to for a bingeworthy TV series is Game of Thrones, and his favorite food is Italian. For a perfect getaway, his top destination is Miami Beach.
