E-MAIL: Sun Cobalt Server

Target: Customers who have a large number of users that only require e-mail service.

Sun's Cobalt Server utilizes the Linux operating system for sending, receiving, and storing e-mail messages. The Cobalt offers a number of e-mail services including hosting mail accounts, automatic vacation responses, automatic forwarding and group mailing lists.

The Cobalt Server uses the Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) for the transport of all messages sent and received on the e-mail server. The Cobalt Server also offers the ability to host web sites on the server and integrates the InterBase open-source database, which is a SQL database designed for business-critical network and Web-based applications.

Nevtec will setup Cobalt Server and configure the Linux e-mail application, which includes setting up e-mail accounts for your users and creating mailbox stores on the server. Nevtec will also configure your users' e-mail programs to access the Cobalt Server and test the server from internal and external e-mail client locations.
